Shane Townsend's story called "The Boy from ‘Kill the Cat'" is featured in a book called Gather the Fruit One by One which celebrates 50 years of Peace Corps stories from South America. Since 1961, more than 200,000 people from the United States, which include Shane and several other members of the Campaign Consultation team, answered President Kennedy’s call and proudly served abroad as Peace Corps Volunteers.
